- Shee Alms House is a National Monument built in 1582 and received a modern restoration in the 1980’s. Much of the 1980’s works was not sympathetic to the traditional conservation construction. To remedy this, the external walls were repointed in lime mortar replacing the sand cement pointing from the 1980’s
- There was old polystyrene insulation to the roof which meant that the existing roof had to be striped and recovered replacing the old insulation with sheep’s wool insulation.
- All the existing leadwork was redone to internal valleys with the adjoining buildings.
- The internals received a fit-out with new heating, electrics, floor finished, decoration, tea station, etc.
